A F2 and F3 Silverstone recap

The Silverstone weekend provided some spectacular races, either in Formula 2 or Formula 3, due to the changeable weather conditions. Four races with action, incidents and sudden changes of positions who gave us a true vision of what this categories are capable of showing with this young talents. Here’s the recap of the Silverstone’s feeder series weekend.

Formula 3: Gabriele Mini leads the championship

In Formula 3 we have seen some incredible battles and some drastic changes, in particular in the feature race. Luke Browning came to Silverstone leading the championship standings, but the home soil wasn’t lucky for the British driver. In the Sprint race, he retired after contact with Red Bull junior Tim Tramnitz, and in the Feature race, he finished only in eighth position with a wrong tire strategy.

A chaotic feature race, with many changes of positions

Who has taken advantage of Luke Browning’s troubles was Gabriele Mini, who finished the races in sixth and second position. With these results, he takes the lead of the championship with 119 points, ahead of his teammate Arvin Lindblad, who won both races and Luke Browning.

A great moment for Italian motorsport, because another Italian is in the battle for the final win. His name is Leonardo Fornaroli.

Formula 2: first win for Kimi Antonelli

A weekend to remember for Kimi Antonelli. The Mercedes junior took his first win during the F2 Sprint race, after a dominant performance in tricky conditions. He managed to stay in the lead all the race, despite three safety cars and he built a noticeable gap over second place driver Zane Maloney. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the same performance in the second race, because of contact on the first lap which made him retire from the race.

Like in Formula 3, we have also seen a change in the standings in Formula 2. Red Bull junior Isack Hadjar won the feature race on Sunday, taking the lead in the championship from Paul Aron, who had a miserable British weekend.
